Senior Mechanical Engineer
SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER Location: Topeka, Kansas Salary: $135K - $145K SIRIS seeks a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Project Manager on a VA Medical Center Construction Program in Topeka, Kansas. This position will report to the program director and collaborate with and assist VA client staff in providing data and generating reports. Responsibilities The Mechanical Engineer will act as Project Manager and lead a team of design, engineering, and construction professionals as well as act as the Owner's representative from design through construction and closeout. The Mechanical Engineer will be required to learn, teach, and implement industry and SIRIS best practices related to project delivery, budget, schedule, quality, and operations in the healthcare environment. The Mechanical Engineer will require experience leading and mentoring a team of professionals and experience as an advisor/liaison with the client (user groups, design team, contractors, and facility engineering representatives). The Mechanical Engineer, along with other SIRIS program team members, will provide design and construction management services as part of traditional Design-Bid-Build and Design/Build contracts. A summary of the major tasks is as follows: Pre-Design/Design Phase i. Scheduling ii. Planning iii. Value Engineering iv. Market Analysis v. Constructability and Phasing Review Construction Period Phase i. Establishing temporary field offices ii. Monitoring project financial data and budgetary cost accounting iii. Construction Phase scheduling iv. Progress Meetings v. Assisting in issue resolution. vi. Testing and Inspection Services vii. Commissioning viii. Performing additional construction-related services ix. Claims Analysis and Resolution Services Required Qualifications
