Construction Inspector

Location: Panama City, FL

CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

Seeking motivated and (CM/PM) Construction Inspector with design and construction experience and education to join us in a Regional Construction Program. Candidates will report to a Project Manager as well as collaborate and assist client staff to provide data, generate reports, as a representative for the client on major healthcare construction project.

Responsibilities:

Inspectors will provide leadership and mentorship to other inspectors. Their duties will include, performing field inspections to evaluate the work. Inspectors will be required to learn and implement industry, client, and internal company best practices related to project delivery, budget, schedule, quality and operations in the healthcare environment. The CM services will be used to support traditional Design-Bid-Build and Design/Build contracts. A summary of the major tasks is below.

  • Perform inspections of materials used; verify quality of workmanship, quality of materials used, and compliance with plans, specifications, estimates and applicable codes and regulations;
  • Note deficiencies and deviations from plans.
  • Report serious problems and disagreements in interpretation to Chief Building Official.
  • Maintain, update, and assure the accuracy of inspection records, project documentation and project files.

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensing: None Required
  • Education: Associates Degree OR graduate of an accredited Trade School or formal construction apprenticeship program OR 10 years of directly related experience.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in construction inspection and contractor oversight activities associated with facilities (i.e., buildings, structures, equipment, systems, etc.) construction and implementation. Familiarity with handling RFI, change orders, submittals logs, etc. Also, field knowledge of safety, scheduling, and cost control are essential skills. Professional experience should also include ability to read and interpret construction documents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Federal projects and with the Army Corps Engineer in particular.
  • CQM, and other specific construction inspection related certifications
